Seeking Skilled Freelance Sound Technician for Post-Production


About the Role


We're looking for a talented and detail-oriented Sound Technician to join our post-production team on a freelance basis. We are dynamic and independent with a clear vision. This role is crucial in creating immersive and high-quality audio experiences for our film and video projects.

Key Responsibilities


  • Perform sound editing, mixing, and mastering for various post-production projects
  • Clean up and enhance dialogue tracks, removing unwanted noise and improving clarity
  • Create and edit sound effects (SFX) and Foley to enhance the auditory experience
  • Mix and balance dialogue, music, and sound effects to create a cohesive soundscape
  • Ensure audio quality meets industry standards across different playback systems
  • Collaborate with directors, producers, and other team members to achieve the desired audio vision
  • Manage multiple audio projects simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines without compromising quality


Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in post-production sound editing and mixing for film, TV, or video
  • Expert proficiency in Pro Tools and Adobe Audition
  • Strong understanding of audio processing techniques and plugins
  • Experience with dialogue editing, ADR, and sound design
  • Familiarity with various audio formats and delivery specifications
  • Excellent critical listening skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Good communication skills and ability to take direction well
  • Experience with surround sound mixing (5.1, 7.1, Atmos)
  • Understanding of storytelling through sound and its impact on viewer experience


Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with other DAWs such as Logic Pro or Avid Media Composer
  • Knowledge of audio restoration software (e.g., iZotope RX)
  • Background in music production or composition
  • Familiarity with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro)
  • Experience working on international projects or with language dubbing


Project Details

  • Freelance position with potential for recurring projects
  • Project durations vary, typically ranging from 2 weeks to 3 months
  • Remote work is possible, with occasional in-studio sessions as needed
  • Flexible schedule, but the ability to meet project deadlines is crucial
